Welcome to the Arlington Fire Department Web site. We are very proud of the role that the Arlington Fire Department plays in our community.

Fire Chief
Chief Rankin has over 50 years of experience in the fire service starting as a Volunteer Fire Fighter and working his way up to the rank of Fire Chief. Jim’s experience as a fire chief spans some 30 plus years serving five different agencies. He has an Associate’s degree in Fire Science, a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer program. His education and professional training is augmented by various other National Fire Academy programs as well as upper division college course and classes.
Chief Rankin came to Arlington on October 31, 2005. He has been married to Debbie for 34 years and they have raised two different families; their own 3 children and 3 of Debbie’s nieces. Chief Rankin and his family live in Arlington. Chief Rankin is also very active in various community clubs and activities.
